It is a solo toy theater performance about a boy following his dreams to become the best puppet maker and puppeteer despite the challenges and difficulties. It is inspired by a true story of a Taiwanese puppetry artist. It integrates miniature-sized Czech marionettes and video projections of Taiwanese hand puppetry and artist’s puppet manipulations. The theater and puppets were created in Prague in 2015. The first 10 min piece of the show has been performed in Prague, Kongsberg (Norway), New York City, Honolulu and San Sebastian & Tolosa in Spain. The show is written, created and performed by Bonnie Kim.

Fringe is an absolute necessity to the Honolulu community if we are serious about bringing it up to the status of a worldwide cultural center, which it damn well should be. Until that happens, Hawaii artists will always be struggling. Fringe makes the community aware of how much art there is, if they're willing to support it.
